Day 10

I did my jump rope session in 5 minutes today and I actually went 132 jumps without messing up. Technically I got to 18 and tripped and finished the rest but still! I know that at some point in time I may look back at this and think about all the improvements that I'll have made past this point. I still can't wait to do a whole set without tripping up, it'll be here soon, I know it!

A new beginning

Well that is what every monday is :). A new beginning. A new week, a new diet, a new work out. NEW NEW NEW NEW NEW. I normally don't like change but when it come in the form of positive cosmic rays that shine down on my body to make my being ever more KUNG FU... I think I'll accept it ^_^.

So the 600 jumps wasn't that bad at all. The calves are getting some jump rope kung fu going on in them no doubt. Its just a little trickle right now, but soon... soon it will be a ravenous flowing river of pure skill! I got to 105 jumps today without missing a step at all! I was very happy with this milestone. Also hooks are so much more fun that simple straight punches. I can get into it so much more. The same thing applies to side kicks. Its amazing how much power you can put into those. I was trying to find that powerful medium of balance and strength. I wanted to make sure that after the kick I could calmly return my footing and do it all over again. I was confused about how to do the left side so I switched my stance so that my right foot was in front and I did my left side kicks that way. Now I'm off to shower, after that is food and I need to check what time I work.

REST!

Not only have I had the last few days to sleep in and get caught up on a lack of sleep... that I was the cause of, but we also have our special rest day today. I am excited for increased stretch time and meditation :). I just love putting on Rainymood.com and sipping on some tea while letting my entire being relax. Its quite nice >8D

Zzzzzz

I can barely remember my workout this morning I was so tired. I was really tuckered out this morning and could barely do half the workout. I found that I was just as tired at the end as I was in the beginning. It didn't help kick start my brain. Took about 3 or 4 hours for me to really wake up.

I've come to the conclusion that sleep is more important than just getting up earlier to do my workout. I will just have to make time during the day to do them until after my Clinicals are done. I knew it was going to be tough to work around them with the start of KFB but I know it will work out fine. I know I will be blazing through once I am well rested and we get into the program a little more.

The flood gates

Just got done with my second day of exercises. To put it simply I think I sweat enough raise the sea level an inch. I'm known to run hotter than most all of my friends which is great in the cold... but when it comes to working out my body is like OMG TOO MUCH HEAT and it just opens the flood gates. I've actually been known to use this to my advantage while playing Ultimate Frisbee. I always end up shirtless and I use my soaking body as a deterrent to opposing players with the misfortune to get to close :).

I noticed when i woke up that my calves were really stiff from the jumps we did the day before. I dreaded having to do the jumps all over again just because it felt like they were going to explode if I did anything. However once I was done I noticed that not only had I only tripped up a few times, but my legs actually felt better. I felt as though today was easier for some reason.

Bring the calm

I finally went out and got my jumprope after class today. I woke up at 7 this morning only to realize that there was 4 sets of 100 jumps first thing. Patrick mentioned giving the body a kick start before doing everything else so I went back to bed till 8:30 and went to class. Once I got home I made an omelette with cheese and ham for lunch and proceeded to work out.

I'll tell ya, I've never really jumped rope before but so far I don't excel at it. I got all 400 jumps in probably 6 or 7 minutes but I kept trippin up until I got into the groove and got about 50 at a time out at the end without messin up at all. After all the kicks and the jumps my legs are very stiff. I went for max reps on everything but found myself struggling with the last set every time. I won't take no for an answer. I already have my mind set on that. I am going to push myself to do the most everytime without complaining. You want top yields then you gotta put in  top effort :P

While I did my stretches and meditation I got some Lemon Lift tea steeping in the background. I am sipping it now and I find that I am very relaxed now. Time to go jump in the shower and relax even more >8D

The Pregame

Peace, Love, and Kung Fu Crabs!

So it is officially day 1 and I am still up. I have class for my EMT training at 9 and I can't decide whether I want to get up even earlier to try doing work outs in the morning... but this would involve getting up at 6:30-7:00 and would also include a shower. I think I will give it a try and eat a nice breakfast. Might as well get myself on track now eh?
