I finally went out and got my jumprope after class today. I woke up at 7 this morning only to realize that there was 4 sets of 100 jumps first thing. Patrick mentioned giving the body a kick start before doing everything else so I went back to bed till 8:30 and went to class. Once I got home I made an omelette with cheese and ham for lunch and proceeded to work out.
I'll tell ya, I've never really jumped rope before but so far I don't excel at it. I got all 400 jumps in probably 6 or 7 minutes but I kept trippin up until I got into the groove and got about 50 at a time out at the end without messin up at all. After all the kicks and the jumps my legs are very stiff. I went for max reps on everything but found myself struggling with the last set every time. I won't take no for an answer. I already have my mind set on that. I am going to push myself to do the most everytime without complaining. You want top yields then you gotta put in top effort :P
While I did my stretches and meditation I got some Lemon Lift tea steeping in the background. I am sipping it now and I find that I am very relaxed now. Time to go jump in the shower and relax even more >8D
Come on, man! You read our blogs and you didn't pre-purchase the jump rope. You must have known the jump rope was a comin' for you! ;-P It'll get easier and maybe even fun for you.
ReplyDeleteAh, he who did not trial the jumprope gauntlet of PCP, welcome to the PAIN!
ReplyDeleteActually, knocking out 400 in 6 minutes is about MY pace, and I was doing thousands a day by the time PCP ended. Good job, brother. Keep it up; I am quite sure it gets uglier!
Oh I already know it will get uglier. On the note of the jumprope it just went right over my head! I was even telling friends how beneficial it is to your health the other day too xD
ReplyDeleteYou're rewiring your brain now. Once all the neurons know what "jump rope" looks like you'll be crusing through them.
